Chelsea face uphill battle recruiting Juventus star

Chelsea appear to be facing an uphill battle in their pursuit of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.

According to Tuttosport, Chelsea have already lodged a £53M bid for the Brazil international, but that is not expected to be enough to convince his current employers to part with him.

Tuttosport believe that the Premier League champions may have to offer a fee in the region of £64M if they want to land the former FC Porto defender this summer – which is a hell of a lot for a left-back.

The Italian outlet believe that Chelsea also face interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the race to secure Sandro’s services, so Antonio Conte cannot waste any time if he is serious about recruiting him this summer.

If, as Tuttosport report, we have bid as high as £53M, what’s an extra £11M for signing one of the best full-backs on the planet. If we’re genuinely looking to challenge on all fronts next season, these are the sort of signings we need to be making. Get it done.

Chelsea target hints he could be on the move this summer

Chelsea target hints he could be on the move this summer

Has AS Roma midfield general Radja Nainggolan just dropped a major hint that he will be on the move this summer?

There’s been somewhat of a fire sale going on at Roma this summer. Mohamed Salah joined Liverpool, Leandro Parades moved to Zenit, and on Sunday Antonio Rudiger’s transfer to Chelsea was officially announced.

A couple of days ago, Chelsea were linked by The Sun with a move to sign Nainggolan. In the tabloid’s report they note that sporting director Monchi has insisted that the Belgium international will not be sold this summer, but Nainggolan may well have just hinted otherwise.

101greatgoals posted the below screenshot on Twitter. Kevin Strootman reveals that he hopes he will not have to say goodbye to any of his Roma teammates this summer, Nainggolan suggests that he may well have to. Former Blue Mohamed Salah then got in on the act.

It is unclear whether Nainggolan is suggesting he will be on the move, or another of his teammates, but if The Sun’s report is true, and Chelsea do want to sign him – this could offer them some encouragement.

Sporting director insists Chelsea target is not for sale

Sporting director insists Chelsea target is not for sale

Chelsea’s pursuit of AS Roma midfiel general Radja Nainggolan is looking more and more difficult as the days pass.

Nainggolan has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world in recent seasons. His meteoric rise in Roma does not appear to have gone unnoticed across Europe.

Calciomercato report that both Manchester United and Inter Milan will provide Chelsea will stern competition in the race to sign Nainggolan.

However, the Italian outlet note that Roma’s sporting director, Monchi, has insisted that the Belgium international will not be leaving the club in the summer transfer window.

It looks as though by pursuing Nainggolan we are attempting to scale a brick wall, if Monchi is to be believed, he is not on the market this summer.

Antonio Conte ought to look elsewhere in his pursuit of midfield reinforcements, to avoid wasting his time on a target he is unlikely to be able to sign.

Should Chelsea sign Alvaro Morata or Andrea Belotti?

New Post has been published on http://www.talkchelsea.net/statistics/should-chelsea-sign-alvaro-morata-or-andrea-belotti/

Should Chelsea sign Alvaro Morata or Andrea Belotti?

Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea is a thing of the past, he will be lining up for Manchester United at next season’s curtain raiser.

For Antonio Conte, the task is simple, adequately replace Diego Costa, or face reliving the Blues’ failures of the past. Lukaku appeared to fit like a glove, but the deal never materialised.

Now it’s very much a case of two strikers, who have been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League champions – Andrea Belotti and Alvaro Morata. But who would be a better fit to spearhead Conte’s attack?

Alvaro Morata

La Liga 2016/17:
Goals: 15
Penalty goals: 0
Assists: 4
Minutes per goal: 89.4
Minutes per goal or assist: 70.5
Shots per goal: 3.6

Andrea Belotti

Serie A 2016/17:

Goals: 26
Penalty goals: 2
Assists: 7
Minutes per goal: 118
Minutes per goal or assist: 93
Shots per goal: 5

Stats via Squawka & WhoScored.

Morata appears to be the more productive striker, but the sample size is less than half the size of Belotti’s. The latter directly contributed to 33 goals for a mid-table side, whereas the majority of Morata’s goals came either off the bench or against minnows.

The major question mark over Morata is whether he can perform consistently while being the primary carrier of a team’s goal burden – Belotti has proven himself able, even if it was for just one season.

Ultimately, both are going to cost the club an arm and a leg, and you cannot say that either are safe bets. Conte is going to have to make a decision, take a risk, and pray that it pays off.

Let us know who you think Chelsea should sign.

Rudiger set to undergo Chelsea medical today

Rudiger set to undergo Chelsea medical today

Antonio Rudiger will undergo a medical in London today ahead of a move to Chelsea, according to The Sun.

As per The Sun, Rudiger is on the verge of joining the Premier League champions, in a move that will set Chelsea back a whopping £34M.

Rudiger has proven himself able to perform consistently in one of Europe’s top five leagues, and also for the German national team, that may be a small price to pay for an accomplished centre-back, who is only going to get better.

The Sun believe that Rudiger’s arrival could see Cesar Azpilicueta shifted out to right-wing-back. It is unclear where that would leave Victor Moses, who was one of the surprise stars of the season last time around.

The tabloid note that Rudiger’s arrival is unlikely to have any impact on Gary Cahill and David Luiz, who are expected to continue at the heart of Antonio Conte’s back three.

Agent in London for talks ahead of £34M move

Antonio Rudiger’s agent is in London to finalise the AS Roma centre-back’s mega-money transfer to Chelsea, according to Sky Sports.

One can only imagine that Antonio Conte is in the hunt for defensive reinforcements this summer, with both Nathan Ake and John Terry departing to AFC Bournemouth and Aston Villa respectively without being replaced.

Sky Sports believe that Rudiger will soon become Chelsea’s first notable signing of the summer transfer window (sorry, Willy).

It is reported that the German international’s agent landed in London on Saturday to discuss personal terms ahead of a £34M move to Stamford Bridge. Sky Sports note that negotiations are at an advanced stage, and the deal is very close to being completed.

Rudiger would mark the beginning of what will, hopefully, be a very busy summer for the Premier League champions. By the sound of things, this one could be wrapped up in the coming days.

Chelsea join race to sign £26.5M-rated Lazio attacker

Chelsea join race to sign £26.5M-rated Lazio attacker

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Lazio attacker Keita Balde Diao, according to Football Italia.

Keita was formerly a member of Barcelona’s illustrious La Masia academy, but was released in 2011 and was snapped up by Lazio.

During his time in Italy, he has been given the opportunity to develop into one of the most explosive attackers in the Serie A.

Throughout his first three seasons in a Lazio shirt, he bagged just 15 goals, but found the back of the net 16 times last campaign, more-than-doubling his goal haul.

His good performances last term appear to have captured the attention of Premier League champions Chelsea, who as per Football Italia, are now considering making a move to sign the 22-year-old.

Football Italia report that Keita’s contract expires in a year’s time, but Lazio will still demand £26.5m in exchange for their star performer. Only time will tell if Chelsea are prepared to meet that fee.

Chelsea agree £34M deal to sign AS Roma centre-back

Chelsea agree £34M deal to sign AS Roma centre-back

Chelsea have agreed a fee with AS Roma to sign centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to Sky Sports.

With both Nathan Ake and John Terry already leaving to join AFC Bournemouth and Aston Villa respectively, Antonio Conte was in dire need of defensive reinforcements – it looks as though he has had his wish granted.

As per Sky Sports, Rudiger will undergo a medical in Los Angeles this week ahead of a £34M move to Stamford Bridge. He will presumably join up with the Chelsea squad for their pre-season tour.

Sky Sports note that the Premier League champions still need to discuss personal terms with the Germany international before the deal is signed and sealed, but it looks as though he will be a Chelsea player come the 2017/18 curtain raiser against Burnley.

Rudiger appears to have fully recovered from the anterior cruciate ligament rupture that he sustained just over a year ago, and has shown great promise during his time in Rome. There is plenty to be optimistic about ahead of his move to SW6.

Chelsea in talks with AS Roma over £30M deal for centre-back

Chelsea in talks with AS Roma over £30M deal for centre-back

Chelsea are in talks with AS Roma over the possibility of signing centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

As per Di Marzio, negotiations are already underway between the two clubs, with Rudiger’s agent preparing to fly to London in order to discuss personal terms with the Premier League champions.

Di Marzio believe that Antonio Conte was keen to sign Rudiger last summer, but the German ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and the deal collapsed. It is reported that the Italian remains an admirer, and it looks as though he is attempting to sign him once again.

Di Marzio reports that the transfer fee being discussed by the two clubs is in the region of £30M. With Nathan Ake departing for Bournemouth early on Friday, it looks as though the Blues have sprung into action in order to secure a replacement. Only time will tell if Rudiger will be that man.

Chelsea and Liverpool suffer blow in pursuit of Lazio midfielder

New Post has been published on http://www.talkchelsea.net/transfers/chelsea-suffer-blow-in-pursuit-of-liverpool-target-sergey-milinkovic-savic/

Chelsea and Liverpool suffer blow in pursuit of Lazio midfielder

Chelsea have suffered a major blow in their pursuit of Lazio midfielder Sergey Milinkovic-Savic, report Team Talk.

As Team Talk report, Milinokivic-Savic is represented by former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu, who left Stamford Bridge soon after his arrival following a failed drugs test.

Now an agent, Team Talk report that Mutu has revealed that he has received offers for his client in the region of €50M.

However, the Romanian goes on to note that Milinokivic-Savic is happy at Lazio and will help the Serie A giants compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.

As per Team Talk, Chelsea are not the only Premier League side interested in signing Milinokivic-Savic. It is reported that Liverpool are also interested in securing his signature.

However, if Mutu is to be believed, it looks as though he is going nowhere this summer, and both Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp will have to look elsewhere in their respective pursuits of midfield reinforcements.
