Chelsea back in for Swans striker

After failing to secure his services in the January transfer market, Fernando Llorente is set to become the subject of another bid from Chelsea as the reigning Premier League champions look to resolve their growing striker crisis.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte remains keen on the Spain international “whose height and ability to hold up the ball, suits Chelsea’s system of playing with just one forward”. And who can blame the Chelsea manager for returning to his previous target? After all, it was the Spaniard’s 15 goals last season that helped keep Paul Clement’s struggling Swansea side in the Premier League. What’s more, Llorente worked with Conte during his time with Juventus, meaning that the Italian boss should know how to get the best out of the hitman.

This story comes after the news today that direct title rivals Manchester United had a bid of £75 million accepted for Everton striker and Chelsea transfer target Romelu Lukaku who had looked certain to secure a move back to West London.

Moreover, with unsettled striker Diego Costa looking for a way out of the London club – with Atlético Madrid the most likely destination – Conte and the Chelsea board must act quickly to assemble an attack capable of competing on all four fronts next season.

Chelsea youngster set for loan move to to Vitesse Arnhem

Chelsea’s Mason Mount is set for a loan move to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem this summer, say The Sun.

The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed within the youth ranks at Chelsea and the club wish to see him develop at Vitesse, where they hope Mount will be able to gain first team experience.

Vitesse, who have taken Lewis Baker, Nemanja Matić and Bertrand Traore on-loan in the past from the Blues, have a good working relationship with Chelsea and have seen many players join on a temporary basis in recent years.

The England Under-19 international has a contract with Chelsea until 2021, according to The Sun, having agreed a new deal last season. Mount was named Academy Player of the Year this year, as he helped lead Chelsea to the FA Youth Cup title and the Under-18s title.

Antonio Conte and the Chelsea hierarchy will be hoping that Mount can replicate the success of Baker, say The Sun, after the Englishman spent two season in the Netherlands, helping the Dutch side win the Dutch Cup.

Roma place a €50m price tag on Chelsea target

Roma have slapped a €50m price tag on Chelsea target Radja Nainggolan and are open to offers for the midfielder, say Calciomercato.com.

In order not to breach FIFA’s financial fair play guidelines, Roma must sell a player for around €30m before June 30th, say Calciomercato.com. With Salah potentially on his way to Liverpool, as Sky Sports are reporting, they are also open to approaches for Nainggolan, who they know they can sell more more.

The Italian outlet also claim that the Romans are willing to listen to offers for Kostas Manolas, who has been a centre-half target for Chelsea for quite some time, as The Metro have reported.

With Salah’s move to Liverpool edging ever closer, Calciomercato.com say that Roma will wait until that matter is resolved before deciding what to do with Nainggolan and Manolas, but the possibility of a move is there.

Nainggolan, who joined Roma from Cagliari in 2014, has a contract that runs until June 2020, per Football Italia, but has been a long-term target for Chelsea, with head coach Antonio Conte having put him on his shopping list last summer, as the Daily Star reported.

Chelsea set to step up efforts for Juventus and Monaco targets

Chelsea are set to step up efforts in their pursuit of Juventus’ Alex Sandro and Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, as they hope to appease head coach Antonio Conte, say The Guardian.

Conte, who is currently on holiday in Italy, is rumoured to be unhappy with the Chelsea board for their lack of transfer activity. As a result, the Italian has reportedly considered leaving the club, with none of his transfer targets having been signed, as The Metro reported.

The Guardian also report that the relationship between the 47-year-old and Chelsea’s board has been put under increased strain, following his decision to inform Diego Costa that the striker would not be in his plans next season.

Chelsea are, as The Guardian suggest, hoping that an improved bid of £55m for Sandro, who has seven caps for Brazil, could tempt Juventus to part with the left-back. The Blues are also set to increase their offer to Monaco for Bakayoko to £40m, with the player having reportedly already decided that he will be joining Chelsea, per L’Equipe via Sport Witness.

Speaking earlier in the week, Juventus’ general manager, Beppe Marotta, said that the club had rejected an offer from Chelsea for Sandro, but indicated that the saga may not be over.

“But I don’t know what he [Sandro] thinks about the interest,” Marotta said. “Players are masters of their own destinies.”

The Guardian also report that Conte’s side are also set to wrap up a deal for former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero in the coming weeks, as back-up for Thibaut Courtois and as a replacement for the departed Asmir Begovic.

Chelsea are set to announce a mystery signing on July 1st

Chelsea are set to announce a mystery signing on July 1st, according to the London Evening Standard.

The Blues have agreed terms with the player, but the club have decided to delay confirmation until the start of next month, say the Standard. The club won’t confirm who they have bought, but it is believed to be former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, says the report.

Chelsea are rumoured to be close to bringing in both Romelu Lukaku and Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, but negotiations have dragged somewhat in recent weeks. Per L’Equipe via Sport Witness, Bakayoko has opted for Chelsea over both Manchester clubs, and per the Daily Star.

The champions are in need of a backup goalkeeper for Thibaut Courtois, after Asmir Begovic joined Bournemouth earlier in the month, as the BBC reported.

Despite rumours that Antonio Conte is unhappy with the Chelsea hierarchy for a lack of transfer activity, the club expect to announce the signing of Caballero and ay even bring it forward.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are clear that Conte is happy with the club and that he does not wish to leave.

Monaco midfielder chooses Chelsea over Manchester clubs

Monaco midfielder chooses Chelsea over Manchester clubs

Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko is likely to join Chelsea, report L’Equipe via Sport Witness, who say that the midfielder has chosen the Blues over both Manchester clubs.

With talks between Bakayoko’s entourage and Chelsea stalling, the Blues reportedly grew tired of their hard-to-get game and began to move their focus elsewhere. To ensure that they didn’t lose Chelsea, Bakayoko and co. agreed terms, with just the deal with Monaco now the only stumbling block, say L’Equipe.

It is believed, as the report suggests, that Bakayoko chose Chelsea over both Manchester clubs, as he wishes to work with Antonio Conte, a manager he feels that he could work very well with.

Although Chelsea’s €30m offer has been turned down by Monaco, who are hoping for a figure more like €45-50m, L’Equipe believe that the transfer is the “most plausible”.

With rumours of Conte being unsettled at Chelsea emerging in recent hours, it is not yet clear how they could affect the deal. According to Sky Sports, Conte is believed to be happy at Chelsea, but simply anxious to see his transfer targets obtained.

Chelsea are keen to keep hold of the youngster, who scored 23 goals with Bristol and picked up their Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards. However, Chelsea do intend to send him on-loan to another Premier League club, in order for him to gain top-level experience.

Speaking with the Argus, Brighton chief executive Paul Barber confirmed that the Seagulls are interested in bringing the striker in.

“It is no secret, he is a player of interest to us,” he said. “There is a lot of competition for Tammy. He is a terrific talent and a fine young player.”

Also interested are Swansea and Newcastle, according to the Northern Echo. The Swans are have registered their interest with Chelsea, but face a battle with Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle.

Abraham is currently with the England Under-21 squad in the Czech Republic for the European Under-21 Championships and has stated that he is shelving talks of his future, per the Daily Mail, until the end of the competition, which begins today.

“I haven’t spoken with Chelsea yet,” said Abraham. “I am focusing on this tournament, so the discussions will happen after. I’m not too sure (about where he will be playing next season) – hopefully it will be in the Premier League.”

“After this season I need to take myself to the next level. That’s the type of person I am – I always want to do better, I always want to do more. So going into the new season, my aim will be to top this one.”

Chelsea starlet scouted by Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund

Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori has reportedly been scouted by both Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, whilst the 19-year-old competed for England Under-20s at the World Cup in South Korea, report AllNigeriaSoccer.

The centre-half was a key member of England’s starting XI and his performances have reportedly caught the eye of the French and German giants. AllNigeriaSoccer also claim that Marseille took a shine to Tomori.

Tomori featured alongside Chelsea team-mate Jake Clarke-Salter in England’s World Cup-winning campaign, which saw the young lions earn the nation’s first World Cup title since 1966.

Having spent half of the season on-loan with Brighton, making nine appearances, Tomori is expected to be loaned out once more, along with Clarke-Salter, claim the London Evening Standard.

Chelsea intend to send Tomori back to the Championship, in order to gain more first team experience, but with some of Europe’s top clubs sniffing around, the youngster could end up competing in the Bundesliga or Ligue 1.

Tomori’s Chelsea contract runs until 2020, having sealed a new deal in August of 2016. He managed to make three appearances for Chelsea this season, featuring in the EFL Cup and FA Cup.

Napoli warn Chelsea off move for star centre-back

Napoli have given Chelsea a clear warning that any offer they make for Kalidou Koulibaly, will not be enough to prise him away, report Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian outlet state that Chelsea are preparing a monumental £60m (£52.7m) bid for the Senegalese centre-half, who they have been pursuing ever since Antonio Conte joined the club.

Conte identified Koulibaly as a priority signing when he first arrived at Chelsea, but found Napoli hard to budge on their valuation of the player, with a rumoured £47m bid being turned down, according to The Metro.

Despite Napoli’s firm refusal to let go of their prized defender, Koulibaly’s agent, Bruno Satin, told Mondo Napoli that a move would be possible.

“The transfer market is long as it will be open until August 31,” he said. “Something might happen before then. They [Chelsea] are a world class team that many players would like to join but I don’t want to talk about this now.”
